Estes Interceptor Build #1250, Part 2, Engine Mount

The face card is an actual picture of a finished model build, not a CG image.

The wind pod "root edge" is raised off the outside edge of the wing. I'll try to get a better fit here.
I'll be using replaceable Kevlar on the engine mount.
This type of Kevlar attachment allows you to check the condition of the Kevlar above the engine mount and replace it if needed.
To see how it is done in more detail, go to the article I wrote for the Apogee Peak Of Flight Newsletter - CLICK HERE

Using the engine hook notch as a reference, extend a center line across the two rings.

Use a plastic tube from a cotton swab.
Using a rotary punch, make a test punch on the side scrap area of the card stock. Find the right sized hole for a friction fit of the tube.

Use the rotary punch to make holes for the tube.
TIP: I also add a small relief punch for the top end of the engine hook. (Bottom right of the second ring)
