On the NAR Facebook page,
Gregory Henderson posted a picture of two new designs to be sold at Hobby Lobby:
John Scott Bryan added:
"From other discussions there are apparently eight Hobby Lobby exclusive kits - the two shown above, a whimsical Mosquito-sized rocket with curved fins and landing pad feet, and an alternate paint scheme version of the Sterling Silver - are “builder” kits. The others are E2X kits including a single glider version of the Double Ringer. Also, it appears that HL gets unique packaging and their own discounted prices - the number floating around is 33% - so no more 40% off store coupon for Estes at HL."
In another post from Gregory Henderson, all eight kits are shown - four are builder's kits, four are E2X. Photo by Bob Sanford.
Builder's kits are the two stage Epic II, Cherokee E, ESAM-58 and Luna Bug.
I’m digging the simple graphics scheme of the Tigress - I’m sure though that the decals will be self adhesive, not water slides.
ReplyDeleteNo white on them, though, so should be easy enough to scan and print waterslide versions.
DeleteI'm seeing a BT-80 Mega Luna Bug build in my future.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone have good fin-placement measurements for the ESAM-58? They're not shown in the instructions.
ReplyDeleteHi Unknown,
DeleteI have not built the ESAM-58, but can give you the measurements from the new Sasha. I believe the upper stage of the Sasha might be the same design as the ESAM-58.
The trailing edge of the upper larger fins are glued 3" from the rear of the body tube. The smaller lower fins are set between the upper fin lines and are even with the end of the tube.
I just heard from Estes Model Rockets Facebook page -
DeleteFrom David Barrett: "Yep. 3” up from bottom."
And you cant find them or the instructions on the Estes pages. Pouty lip...
ReplyDeleteHi Unknown,
DeleteI don't see why they wouldn't post them - I'll ask Estes if it comes up in conversation.
