Estes Xarconian Cruiser Build Part 11 Pod End Cutting
My tube cut template was a little bit larger than the diameter of the glued halves.
Tape in place and trace around the ends with a sharp pencil.
Be sure to have a sharp blade to cut through the thick tube. I went through a few break off tips to keep a sharp clean cut.
Be ready, the curved sides cut easier than the glued joint areas.
Cut the ends of the tab slots first.
Cut/punch the knife tip from the corner to the middle.
Turn over the pod and cut/punch the other side so the two small cuts meet in the middle.
The longer tab slot sides were cut using an aluminum angle for a blade guide.
BUILD TIME
Trace ends, cut ends and slots: 30 minutes
Total Build Time so far: 5 hours, 50 minutes
