Estes Xarconian Cruiser Build Part 9 Pod Detail Piece

While the pod sides are drying, the detail piece is cut out.
Cut out the "shield" shaped piece and trace around with a pencil on the left over 2" long tube segment.

Cut out the straight sides with a sharp knife and straightedge.









The detail pieces are smaller and the curved ends can be cut with sharp scissors.

Some medium thickness CA glue was applied to the edges with a Q-tip.
This will seal and harden up the rough ends for sanding.

Apply the CA to the edges only, not on the inside gluing surface.

400 grit was used to smooth out the dried CA glued sides.

Trace and cut pod accents: 20 minutes
Super glue and sand edges: 15 minutes
Total Build Time so far: 5 hours, 10 minutes
