FlisKits Saturn 1B Kit Arrives!

My FlisKits Saturn 1B came in the mail a few days back!
Sure, it arrives just as I'm working on the Semroc Saturn 1B. Don't expect me to start the FlisKits version anytime soon. I'm sure I'll be tired of the Saturn 1B when this current Semroc build is finished.
I had wanted this kit for quite a while, but it has been out of production. FlisKits announced there was going to be a final run. I kept an eye out and ordered as soon as they were available.

You can tell parts inventory is getting low. The parachute is red sheet plastic, not the Flis printed chute. The kit bag is much wider than it probably should be. Not a problem, I'm glad to finally have the kit!

  1. I took a look at the instructions and the "dowels" used for the tower, and I said Yikes! Looks even harder than the Semroc model. And take a look at the O ring for the tower. You need a microscope for that. Might go with the easy option and build a cardstock tower.

  2. Oh wow, I didn't realize the FlisKits version used mini motors. I've been slowly putting together a very similar scratch-build, except mine uses the Semroc Moon Glo nose cone.

  3. I opened mine, read through the instructions, then placed everything back in the bag. Someday, when I want to finish killing my eyesight, and my sanity, I will give it a shot.
