Hi Openroad, I don't know - if Estes sends me one to build - maybe. I don't normally like to build models over 24" tall, The big ones take up too much floor space and would rarely get launched. Those big (one shot) engines are too expensive for me!
I’m hip! But if they do send you one don’t sweat the engines - these new style PSII rockets will fly on regular 24mm D and E with an adapter. My Super Big Bertha works great on an E12.
Ehh, not impressed. I muss the old PSII rockets. It wants to be mid power, it's just a big low power rocket. I understand the decisions that were made from a business perspective, but I think they are missing a huge opportunity to get those of us that have move to bigger things to come to Estes for more than low power.
As much as this poor horse has been beaten on - until Estes develops more powerful motors we’ll never see anything from them that weighs much more than 14-15 oz without a motor. The 29mm BP motors can’t, within Estes in-house requirements, safely lift anything heavier. Heavier tubes and plywood parts needed for big MPR/HPR rockets just aren’t in the cards for Estes currently.
Is there a build coming up on the blog?

ReplyDeleteHi Metal,
DeleteThere are some elements I would change out - if I flew MPR rockets.
