GOTCHA: You are supplied with a long piece of shroud line to tie up the upper body recovery harness. Try to break the string with a tug - I found mine too weak to be trusted with a strong ejection charge. I replaced it with some #10 embroidery thread.
Tie the sling up so the tower is angled up. The inset picture shows the elastic tied to the string.
Notice the angle of the upper body in the illustration. The insert angle of the centering rings allows you to pass over the glue line set 1/4" from the inside end of the tube.
Before any glue is used -
Double check the alignment of the top and bottom sections - The booster tubes center beneath the vertical alternating black and white bands. Check the paint pictures on page 11 of the instructions to line up the fin paint patterns the upper section. Mark the upper and lower sections with alignment pencil lines before using any glue.
The inside upper bead ring of glue (3 1/4" from the end) was applied using a marked dowel.
The picture shows the low glue ring set inside 1/4" from the tube end.
After the assemblies were joined, excess glue on the inside top ring joint was picked up and the fillet smoothed with a Q-tip taped to a dowel.
