Pitsco School Rocket from Ebay Lot Part 2
That small screw eye was turned into the center molded lug.
The eye is recessed inside the shoulder of the nose cone, a first time builder would have a hard time tying the thin shock cord string on the eye.
The inset picture shows the fit of the nose cone in the BT-50. The base of the cone overhangs the BT-50 diameter. EDIT: This is not a BT-50, it is slightly larger.
The BT-20 sized engine mount tube is only 2 1/2" long, 1/4' shorter than the standard 2 3/4" engine mount tube.
Without the instructions I can only assume this is how it would be assembled.
The centering rings are 3/8" wide and are a perfect fit around the BT-20 engine mount tube. However, the fit of the assembled mount in the mainframe is very loose. There is no engine block ring.
The engine hook is the older Estes style without the finger tab. The hook is spring steel, a real plus.
For school students I would still prefer the BMS School Rockets or the Semroc Boid.
The BMS model has laser cut marks on the main tube for easier assembly.
With the Semroc Boid, every student would have a different, identifiable rocket.
