Enerjet News, Mercury Little Joe I, Part 2, Capsule Gluing

As mentioned in the Estes Liberty Bell build, don't build the capsule and tower as shown in the current Estes instructions. Here's how the older Centuri instructions got it done. It's easier and assembles much easier this way. Take it slow!

DON'T USE TOO MUCH GLUE! Dip the brush, wipe off the excess then brush glue on the parts. You can always add more after you are sure the pieces are in line. Note the three capsule sides are not set into the shoulder base yet.

For now, apply liquid cement to just the inside top 1/4" of the three piece capsule. Let dry for a few minutes after every glue application.

Set the antenna housing on the top to line everything up. This is to insure all the tops are aligned. Set the housing on and turn it. Don't glue the housing on yet.

Look to the lower right of the base. Notice the pieces aren't touching, there is a gap. Right now just the top of the capsule is glued.

Wrap a rubber band around the three capsule pieces. Set the antenna housing back on the capsule. No glue yet.

Look at the capsule base shoulder underneath. The bottom of the three pieces won't easily fit into the shoulder base slot - yet.
