Estes Low Boom SST #7289 Build, Part 12, White Paint & Decal Color Match

I did a test fit of the jet engines.
Some cleaning up of the gluing slots made for a good fit.

Before the body was painted an overall gloss white, the engine gluing slots were masked off. The tape strip was cut just under the with of the support pieces.

TIP: The Ace Hardware brand BURGUNDY Premium Enamel is a near perfect match for the decals.
The support top cover piece has been sprayed and is set on the decal sheet to show you the color match.

The cover piece needed some more paint on the edge.
TIPS: To touch it up, some of the burgundy was sprayed into a small plastic cup with a plastic bag liner.
Dip a Q-tip in the paint, remove some of the excess on a paper towel. This type of touch-up only works on edges, not a larger flat surface.

Above is the before, you can see the paint didn't reach the edge or got chipped off when it was lifted off the masking taped spray board.

Here's the after shot where the paint was "rolled" on using the Q-tip.
