Estes Low Boom SST #7289 Build, Part 14, Paint Touch-ups & Engine Decals
After the tape was pulled I did have some clean up to do.
Here on the engine front some burgundy paint was carefully scraped off with a new blade.
The decals are printed close to each other on the the sheet. Cut them out carefully.
The decals on the pre-production kit were a tad small, not reaching from top to bottom.
I went back and rolled some burgundy paint over the edge with a Q-tip. Note the burgundy doesn't reach all the way to the front of the engine.
The back of the decal was a little longer than the rear edge of the sides. The overhang was trimmed off with a single edge razor blade.

That looks like a perfect color match. Do you have a manufacturer/paint # for that spray color?
ReplyDeleteHi BAR,
DeleteI just checked the paint can - It is Ace Premium BURGUNDY Gloss #1196419. I was calling it Maroon in these threads - I went back and edited the posts to the word Burgundy.
