Quest Raptor Build Part 4, Nose Cone Prep

The main nose cone seam was easily sanded smooth.
The two smaller nose cone seams required some filling.

Enlarge the picture. The nose cone at the upper left is how it came from the factory.
The nose cone right below it has had the raised seam sanded smooth. There is still a small recess seam that will have to be filled.

The inset picture shows a bead of medium CA glue applied down the recess seam. That's the cheap CA Super Glue from the Dollar Tree store.

Here's the nose cone after the CA was sanded to surface. First with 220 grit followed by 400 grit.

I cut the base and lug off the two nose cones.
No real reason for doing this, they'll never be seen once glued into the 20mm tube.
Instead of the recommended plastic glue, I used epoxy to glue the nose cones in the tube.
The epoxy is slippery and air pressure in the tube kept the second nose cone from fully seating!
I punched a small hole to allow the air out. Now the nose cone could be fully pressed into the tube.

Later when gluing the tube to the bottom of the main tube I'll glue it right over the hole to hide it.
