New Shrox FSI Design?

In a recent TRF post CLICK HERE,
Blake Goddard introduced himself as IT and Marketing Director for Flight Systems Inc.
"All your old favorites will be back: BBII, OSO, Megatron, Nova, Viking III, IV, etc."

FSI has a website under development: www.flywithfsi.com

Doug Shrox will be doing some new designs,

Ooooooh!

  1. That appears to be identical to a design that appeared on the Shrockets web site but was never offered there as a kit or plan pak. A lot of people seemed to be asking when it would be made available; they'll be cheering now. (I still have to build my Sea Sting!) See archived site http://wayback.archive.org/web/20130921231924/http://www.shrockets.com/ .

  2. Based on what I saw in a Shrox post on Facebook, this is going to be dual deploy with the drogue deployed backwards from the back end of the top of the upper tube, and I am assuming that the main will be deployed out the top with standard nose cone deployment. It is an interesting idea, can not wait to see this and the idea has me thinking of some unconventional dual deployment ideas.

  3. Hi Doctroid,
I looked up the design and you are right. Shrox may have had that design on the back burner if his new company had really taken off.
Looks like FSI will have first dibs on it.

  4. Hi Paul,
The looks like a single deploy. Who knows?
    The second drawing says "Drogue"
That's a BIG model and wouldn't get great altitudes so it may not need the dual deploy.
