I'm back home and able to get back to the Dr. Zooch Saturn V.
The engine mount is actually Step 2. Step 1 was the parts list and parts illustration.
The tube is notched for the engine hook, two inches from the rear.
Some Zooch kits have the engine hook extend out farther than the standard 1/4". On this model, the engine sticks out 3/4" from the end of the BT-20 engine mount tube. This is to get the engine flame clear of the F-1 engine bells.
Anytime you get the black Letramax centering rings in a kit, wipe down the laser cut edges with a paper towel before assembly. That black soot will get on everything.
The rings in this kit were a little loose. I had to build up the inside edge with a bead of white glue. After it was dry, the fit was much tighter.
After the hook was placed in the slit, I did 1 1/2 wraps of black electrical tape around the tube and over the engine hook.
TIP: After reading a tip from Bradycros on TRF, I now notch the engine block for a better fit over the upper engine hook bend.
Notching the hook helps the engine block sit square in the motor mount tube.
For an easier alignment over the hook, I mark the top so when the block is slid into place I know the notch is right over the engine hook top.
Looking in from the top you can see the hook and marked notch are in line.
(In this picture the block hasn't been slid down onto the top of the hook yet.)
I slid the block in place using an engine casing, dry - no glue yet. The casing also insures the block doesn't go in at an angle.
The block was slid in until it rested on the hook and fit over the upper bend of the hook.
