I was tying off some three strand Kevlar.
Three strand Kevlar (not the braided type) has a tendency to unravel on the ends. In the picture on the right you can see it starting to separate.
Before trimming the loose end, run a white glue coat down the strands that are still wound together. Let dry.
TIP: Don't ever use CA (or super glues) on any line! The glue will run down the line for an inch on either side where it was applied. The dried CA will make the Kevlar line (or shroud line) stiff and brittle!
After the glue has dried, you can trim it down in the dried glue area. The lines will stay together.
I also add a very small drop of white glue to the end of the line.
I don't like putting glue on knots. There has been some Forum discussions about the glue weakening the line.
If you tie the correct knot, it shouldn't come undone!
I have had parachute shroud lines untie themselves! Those required a bit of glue to "set" the knots.
