Quest Aerospace One Part 19 Step 26 Fitting the Intake Tube

Fitting the intake tube took some extra work.

The top edge of the intake fin was tall. I wanted the sides of the split intake tube to sit right under the wing joint.
Slide it on from the front to get an idea of how much of the intake fin has to be taken down.
About 3/32" was sanded down with 220 grit on a block.
You'll have to sand a bit and check, sand and check again.

The instructions say to apply a bead of CA on the unpainted strip surrounding the split point. That gives you one chance to get it right before the CA quickly dries. It took a lot of re-positioning to get the intake tube centered.
With the intake tube dry fitted, the top of the intake fin contact was marked in the intake tube. Paint was scraped off for a better glue joint.

White glue was applied to the top bare edge of the intake fin and the intake tube set in place. Using white glue gave plenty of time to adjust the fit and be sure the split tube edges were under the wing.

After the white glue had dried, thin CA was set along the split tube joint at the front. The CA was allowed to run down that joints contact point under the wing.
