Estes QCC Explorer Build Part 2, Engine Mount

I hate engine hook finger tabs!
They are easy to take off with a wire cutter.

You won't be able to cut through the tab with the cutter alone. Score the hook from both sides.
Bend the tab back and forth on the score line until it breaks off.
The cut tab end will go to the top of the mount under the engine block.

There is probably a sharp edge on the cut hook.
Smooth it off on a metal file.
This model will have the replaceable Kevlar shock cord.
For complete details on the mount changes go to the Apogee Peak of Flight article HERE

You'll need to punch holes for the hollow "Q-tip" straw guide.
Draw a pencil line directly opposite the engine hook recess slots.

After build EDIT: The plastic nozzle makes it hard to get to the replaceable Kevlar loop. I ended up gluing the nozzle on lightly with plastic glue. Plastic glue doesn't give a great bond on plastic/body tube connections anyway. I'll be able to work loose the nozzle, check the Kevlar after 10 flights and lightly glue the nozzle back on again.
