Cut a hole for the engine hook about 1/2" from the bottom end of the engine casing. You can either use a Dremel or cut it with a sharp knife as shown here.
Run a line of glue around the inside of the cut circle in the cardboard base.
To finish up, socket the engine casing in the glued, recessed circle. Let dry and run a fillet of white glue around the base.
Because you cut the cardboard inside of the penciled line, the casing should have a friction fit in the glue circle.
With the engine lock set into the cut out area of the casing, the stand gives a good strong hold on the engine mount.
