This was actually a fun build. I like the challenge of working small.
I could have gone back and made another tower with the appropriate sized plastic rods but I was ready to finish this one up.
Recovery is by streamer. I didn't glue on the launch lug and standoff. It was just too large and would take away from the finished look. The last blog post shows the removable lug.
On the lower left is the extended stabilizer fin unit. It slips over the engine casing extending out the back. The decals were touchy, the clear coat was thin.
In the end the model looks good, a fine representation of the Mercury Redstone.
