The second shroud is set with the seam turned 120 degrees from the top shroud seam. This is for strength and a smoother finished large cone.
It helps to mark the seam position on the upper shrouds.
Dry fit shroud #2 into shroud 31. It will fit into the base of #1 about an inch. Turn the assembly to be sure the shroud is on straight. Draw a pencil line beneath the overlap.
I tried applying some glue stick to the top of the second shroud but it increased the diameter so much that the shroud (and pencil line) was too low. I removed the second shroud and scraped off the glue stick.
The interior tube butts up against and supports the inside of the shroud.
Sand down the square edge slightly so there won't be a bulge.
You really have to go easy when positioning the interior tubes and centering rings. You want a good fit without bulging the shroud skin.
Before this ring was slid in place, the tube end got some glue stick. Thinner white or yellow glue could shrink the card stock shroud.
Sand an angle on the outside edge of the interior rings.
Again this is for more edge contact and less chance of the rings being seen outside on the finished model.
