TLP Pershing #K046 Build, Part 2, Engine Mount
The black Letramax centering rings should be wiped off with a paper towel before handling. The laser burnt edges will get black soot on everything.
The fit of the rings was very tight over the engine mount tube.
It took some sanding with 220 grit for a friction fit.
This is a dry fit of the rings over the BT-50 engine mount tube.
I'm adding a replaceable Kevlar swab tube opposite the engine hook location.
The instructions have you glue the rings 1/4" from each end.
I lowered the top ring down over the top of the engine hook bend.
There is no engine block in the mount.
(The picture makes the rings look crooked, they are straight.)
The instructions say:
"If you wish to increase spring tension in the clip, wrap the securing tape a bit closer to the rear of the motor mount tube."
The engine hook felt a little too "springy" so I placed the tape quite a bit lower.
The instructions recommended Scotch tape, I used the stronger electrical tape.
