New Way A-20 Demon Build Part 4, Balsa Connector

The balsa coupler (connector) sides have to be sanded down to fit the inside walls of the square tubing.
I doesn't take much to get a good fit, use a sanding block for best results. You'll also have to round off the corners.

The instructions say to glue the block halfway into the short payload tube. This would leave 3/4" extended out into the lower body tube.
I decided to glue just 1/2" into the payload tube, that leaves 1" exposed for a longer slide into the lower tube.

A larger than normal screw eye and washer are included. The larger screw eye has larger threads, less chance of pulling out.
I set a ruler over the corners and drew an "X" in the center with a pencil.

The screw eye is screwed in up to the ends of the threads. Unscrew and squirt glue in the hole.
Set down the washer and turn the screw eye back into the block.
The washer is to prevent the screw eye from penetrating too deeply
