Dr. Zooch Saturn 1 SA-5 Build Part 10 S-1 Stage

Here the thrust structure tube is glued over the engine mount centering rings.

The rear of the tube is glued flush with the rear ring.

I decided to add white glue to the inside edge of the lower ring then slide the tube down from the top. This glues the tube to the lower ring.

I applied a fillet to the inside of the upper ring / body tube joint using the same method as in the last post.

A single drop of glue was set on the end of the rounded dowel.

This glue drop was set into the joint and the rounded end was used to smooth out and make the fillet. Think of the rounded dowel as a very skinny finger used to smooth the fillet and remove excess glue.

It'll take seven or eight drops of glue to go all the way around the joint.

Any glue outside of the (desired) fillet area can be picked up and removed with the end of the dowel.
