LAUNCH! Schoolyard November 15, 2010

Another perfect morning at the soccer field, calm and clear skies.
A mom was throwing a football to her son Jimmy, I invited them over to see the launches closeup.

Five went up including:
The 13th launch of the MMX SKY WRITER Downscale.
This was also the 13th time for the "reusable" MMX igniter.

I asked Jimmy to countdown and press the button, it gave me the chance to get a rare picture of an actual launch.

That's the carded MERCURY REDSTONE on a 1/2A3-2t.

Here's the FlisKit MMX HONEST JOHN right before flight.
If you want to see how high a MicroMaxx model can go, this is the one for altitude.

The UP! CUP flew its third time on a A10-3t. Both Jimmy and his Mom Michelle said that was the favorite. They were surprised a coffee cup could fly. I used a MicroMaxx igniter on this 13mm engine.

And finally, Jimmy launched the MMX downscale GooneyBird MISSILE TOE.

  1. With Michelle's permission, here the email she sent after the launch:
Thanks so much for including Jimmy in your rocket launching this morning. He had to call his grandfather as soon as we got home and he told him all about it. And then when we just checked out your website and your blog and he saw his name.....Wow, he got all excited over again. Thanks again. Let me know if you are going to launch again at all this week and I will bring him over to see.

    Thanks again.
    Michelle
