The fit of the thick adapter rings was very loose on the BT-5 engine mount tube. A line of white glue was applied to the inside of the ring to build up the edge. After it dried, the ring had a better fit.

Because the bottom ring will be flush with the BT-50 main body tube, sand it flat with 220 grit on a sanding block. This will give a flat bottom to the engine mount and a cleaner look on the finished model.
Thr ring on the right was sanded flat.

Here the lower ring is glued even with the bottom of the BT-5 engine mount tube.
A line of glue was run around the bottom of the BT-5 and pressed into the adapter ring. It was pressed down on the flat side of a ruler that was handy. Any flat surface will work and guarantee the ring is flush with the end of the motor mount tube.
