TIP: Cutting Equal Length Shroud Lines

If you ever get a kit that tells you:
"Cut the shroud lines into three equal lengths"
Here's a way to cut them equally without getting out the yardstick.

Loop the line over your hand as shown.
The loop at the top right goes over your index finger.

Hold onto the loose line end at the left between your thumb and index finger.
Pull down on the middle line letting the long line at the right roll over your index finger.

Keep pulling the middle line down until the lower loop is as long as the loose end on the right.

Cut through the center ends of both loops.

You'll end up with three equal length lines.

Practice on some scrap string before you commit to the shroud lines included in the kit!
