"Bones" Halloween Build, Part 6, Fin Skins

Here's one way to paper fins:
3/32" thick balsa fins were cut out. These fins are wide and trail below the end of the coffin body.
The skins were printed on 24 lb. paper. Two fins will have the bony feet, the other two will just be white.
The leading edge of the fins were rounded, all other edges remain square.
Note these fin covers are soft folded down the center. They roll over the front making a smooth rounded leading edge.

These are adhered to the balsa with a glue stick. Apply glue to just one half of the skin making sure some glue goes into the leading edge soft fold.

Stick down one side of the fin onto the glued paper.
Check to be sure the fold line is centered down the round leading edge.
Burnish the skin flat on the balsa side.
Apply glue stick to the other side of the paper. Fold over the skin onto the balsa. Start by rolling over the round leading edge then burnish the second side.

The balsa turned out to be a bit long. The exposed balsa will be sanded off, even with the low edge of the skin.

If a corner lifts, sneak some more glue stick under the skin with a knife blade and burnish down.
