Estes Boosted Bertha #001946 Build, Part 9, Masking The White Fins

There is one white fin on the booster and one white fin on the second stage.
I used my standard (marked) Scotch tape. Masking over the rounded leading edge can be tricky. A strip of tape is rolled over the top and down the other side. The rounded top "fold" is lightly pinched and stuck together but still retains the round shape. When you pinch the rounded over top, be sure you don't lift the tape off the leading edge. Retain the edge seal!

The back end is masked using a few strips of tape rolled over the sides of the fin.

Most of the white fin is covered with a piece of a grocery bag. Masking tape goes over the Scotch tape set on the root edge and onto the plastic bag.

TIP: I get sharper mask lines lifting the Scotch tape when the sprayed paint is not fully dry. It is still tacky when the tape is pulled. Be careful not to touch the sticky paint when lifting the tape.

On the right is the mask - this time it was clean!
