More Upcoming Estes Kits!

Now on the Estes website - Coming Soon page: CLICK HERE
#7281 Space Corps Corvette Class
25" tall, BT-55 based
"The first release in a new Estes series, the Estes Space Corps." More Space Corps designs could be on the way.

I have already built one for Estes. It has three piece fins with launch lug/dowel "guns" on the outside edge.
BIG, detailed water slide decal sheet with lots of color.
18mm B and C motors with the new 18mm retainer.

The Starship Octavius #7284 is interesting for an E2X model -
No glue used in the assembly. Check out the instructions: CLICK HERE

The two lower fins are new molded plastic. I thought at first they were the same fins used in the upcoming MAV. These are different and could be easily used in other E2X slide in fin cans.

  1. I like the direction Estes is apparently taking with the trademarked Destination Mars and Space Corps monikers - why pay licensing fees when you can build your own “world” in-house? Somebody at Estes must have spent time building rockets with elementary age kids and realized how useful glue-free assembly could be for younger beginners. Seems young kids have two settings for dispensing glue: too much and even more!

    1. Hi Openroad,
If you haven't yet, check out the clear tape fin can retention on the Octavious. I'm not big on E2X rockets. But when I look back on how many plastic models I assembled as a kid, it's not much different. At a young age I did get a feeling of accomplishment putting things together.
