Copy from the Estes website:
TAZZ #7282 "Based on the Estes Gyroc of the 60s -
Launch it up to 700 feet on a C6-3 engine and watch as it spins back down to earth!"

This new Gyroc is BT-50 based, 16" tall and uses 18mm engines.

Fins are through the wall construction. The rubber bands can be removed between flights or replaced if needed. New plastic hooks hold the rubber bands.

Check out the tab positions on the smaller Q and P fins.
Note the new posted TAZZ instructions have larger illustrations, more descriptive copy and are only in English.

I assume that "TAZZ" is short for the spinning cartoon character, the Tasmanian Devil - A clever way to work around a Warner Brothers property.

  1. I really like the TAZZ. I got a free Gyroc as a kid and loved that rocket. I’m also very interested in the MAV. I’d be tempted to get two, and steal that nose cone for a scratch-build.

    1. Hi Lee,
I like the rubber band retention on the new Tazz. You can bet many will buy the MAV for that nose cone.

  2. Looking forward to seeing more of the Destination Mars series kits. Creating their own line of faux realistic rockets with a connection to space exploration is a good option compared to spending money on licensing fees!

    1. Hi Openroad,
I'm hoping a one of the Destination Mars kits are for builders, not just the ARTF. Maybe an update on the old Mars Lander?

  3. I just did a MAV (it's on YORF) and started on a TAZZ yesterday. It is essentially an elegant upscale of the Semroc version of the Gyroc. Only one gotcha so far....on the hinges, of course.
