Estes SR-71 Blackbird Build Part 12, Shroud Ends Fitting

The front of the top shroud had lifted at the center tick mark.
This won't help the fit of the nose cone.

The tick mark cut was extended all the way to the front of the shroud.
Be careful not to cut into the BT-50 tube underneath.
On side off the cut was set underneath the other.
Medium CA was applied to the cut line so it ran underneath and glued both sides to the body tube.
The CA glue also hardens the card stock for smoother sanding.
A dowel was rolled over the drying shroud for a smoother joint.

The upper layer of the card stock was sanded down to the lower layer.
It doesn't look great now, but after some primer filler and more sanding you won't see the seam.
The overall fit of the nose cone is getting better.
