New Estes Saturn V, #1969 Pictures

Kevin Foss posted some pictures on the NAR Facebook page:

Son of a gun -
The 1/100th scale Lunar Module is the old Revell kit!

A closeup showing the detail on the new blow-molded upper transition.

Sorry, Kevin didn't post any pictures of the new vacu-form wraps. The rest of the kit looks like it did before. I know there are other changes.

  1. Hey! I guessed it right when I supposed it would be the Revell 1/100 LEM. I built that one and the larger 1/48 Tranquility Base model too. Now that I think about it I think I did the Mercury capsule, the Gemini spacewalk model and the Apollo capsule/command module/LEM model as well. I built just about every space flight related model I could find - the Pilgrim Observer space station was my favorite.

    1. Hi Openroad,
Yep, you got it right! I assembled many plastic models before model rockets replaced them. I have had the 1/100 scale Revell Lunar Lander along with a few other space models.

  2. Time to go shopping for candy? I do remember being somewhat disappointed to discover that chocolate bars are no longer foil-wrapped. I vaguely recall that the foil wrapping for Rolo candy looked to be just about the right colour.
