Semroc Saturn 1B, Build, OOP #KS-1, Part 32, New Retro Rocket Housings
The basswood got a shot of primer/filler and smooth sanding.
Very little filler/primer was left after sanding.
Two strips of scrap gloss card stock were cut, formed and glued over the top. The pencil line shows the overhang glue position.
The front angle was cut using a new razor blade. I didn't cut right up to the wood, but left it a little long to be sanded off.
There is some card stock that will roll over. Don't try to sand it all off, you'll end up taking too much off the angled front end.
The overhang is picked forward with a knife tip and then removed with 400 grit on a block.
On the left is the original retro rocket housing.
On the right is the retro housing from the round 205 Saturn 1B.
