Bill Eichelberger (A Fish Named Wallyum on TRF) posted about a Pitsco model rocket kit he found.
To make the body tube, his Pitsco kit has you wrap gummed tape around a clear tube mandrel.
His instructions were missing but he found a YouTube video on how to roll the tubes. HERE
While the tube rolling was interesting, I don't agree with many of the construction techniques on the video. They tape the shock cord to the outside of the body tube. Maybe to strengthen the end of the hand rolled tube?
Packing the parachute is simply pushing it into the top with the shroud lines and (very thin) shock cord piled on top.
Here's one of the kits I bought on EBAY.
The small piece of yellow paper is recovery wadding, not enough for a 1" body tube.
There's a very rectangular tri-fold shock cord mount and Big Bertha style fins.
The fin material is a thick card stock.
The plastic nose cone isn't very attractive profile but does have a screw eye attachment that's impossible to reach!
Five parachute reinforcement disks are included for the six sided parachute.
The centering rings are a sloppy loose fit in the slightly larger than BT-50 tube.
The engine mount tube is too short for a 2 3/4" engine.
They did get the engine hook right!
