With parents forgetting to reset their alarm clocks for Daylight Savings Time, there were plenty of kids late for school this morning.
I was up earlier than normal and headed to the soccer field - no wind and clear skies.

Usually something small is first up, to test controller batteries and adjust for any upper winds. The downscale MMX SKY SHREIK went up after re-adjusting the igniter.
I had added some clay weight inside the plastic nose cone of my Quest COBALT clone. This made all the difference for a vertical flight using a Quest A6-4. It was loud and stable.
The A6-4 engine gives a nice, slower liftoff. It's a little like a Big Bertha with a B6-4. You should have enough time to get a good picture of the the launch.
I'll have to add a longer streamer, a fin was broken off at the body tube joint at landing.
The Hot Rod Rockets BELL BOTTOM got great height with the A3-4t engine.
On the left - on the launcher. On the right - out of frame!
The tripod angle was good, it drifted back and I caught it before it hit the wet grass.
This is the original Odd'l Rockets SQUATTY BODY caught at ignition with an Estes A8-3, the best picture of the day.
Stable and a great small field flyer.
Also flown:
The CORKSCREW with an A3-4t. Lots of spiral coning now!
After ejection, this rocket decends with the open end of the offset ring facing up. Falling this way, there is little chance of the ring getting bent. The extended engine casing hits the ground first.
