Quest Striker AGM Build, Part 14, White Background Decal TIPS

Here's the blue decals set onto the white decal sheet.

Let thoroughly dry before cutting out using a new blade.

Cut through the top decal and the lower white decal sheet with the white backing still in place. These are cut dry.

I made a placement template by tracing around a fin and cutting out the decal position outline.

Soak both layers of decals, the white and blue overlay decal should slide off and stay together.

Here's the finished decals.
There is a slight white outline around the blue overlay where the cut wasn't perfect. No big deal, close enough for me.

  1. Looks like this might be a good treatment for the black wrap with skull on the Mini Max. On a build of mine, the decals must be thinner than usual, the skull looks a little pinkish over the red body.

    1. Hi Lee,
This white decal overlay idea works pretty well on simple shapes. The skull might be tricky! My Mini Max decals looked a bit pink over the red paint.

    2. Chris, for standalone skulls, that would be tricky. I was just thinking of trying it for the body wrap, so it would be a big rectangle under the entire wrap. My standalone skulls seem OK.

    3. Lee,
You could do it for the body wrap. Like you said, a big rectangle. Be ready, without a clear coat the decal material by itself is slimy and thin.
