Wolverine Rocketry Phoenix AIM-54A Build Part 3 Engine Mount

The lower centering ring is set back 1/4" from the low end of the engine mount tube.

The notch for the engine hook movement is the perfect size. It allows just enough movement for insertion of the engine and no side "play" of the hook.

A wrap of tape goes over the engine hook. I used a more permanent black electrical tape.

The Kevlar ribbon is slid through the notch in the forward tube.
I had to trim off the loose ends of the Kevlar so it would slide in easier.
A coat of epoxy goes over the Kelvar ribbon and surrounding engine mount tube.

To make the coat cleaner, a bead of epoxy was layed over the Kevlar.
This bead was evenly spread into a "rectangular" shape using a toothpick tip as a spreading brush.

This picture was taken vertically after the epoxy was already setting up. Don't let the epoxy dry in this position! It will run.
Let the epoxy dry horizontally with the mount set on the ring edges.
