Wolverine Rocketry Phoenix AIM-54A Build Part 6 Filling Seams

This method of seam filling may not work for everybody. This is just how I do it.
The filler you use to fill the body tube seams is mixed slightly thicker than the "brushable" CWF used to fill balsa.

Dip just the tip of a dull X-Acto knife into your thinned CWF.
Set it into the body tube seam.

Drag that drop down the seam for about an inch.

Lightly (yes, lightly) drag the flat side of a razor blade over the CWF removing the bulk of the filler.

Leave filler in the seam!

Repeat applying and then removing filler about an inch at a time until the entire body tube is filled.

Here's how the tube looks before sanding off the dried filler.

Notice there is a thin skin of filler on either side of the seam trench.
Don't press too hard when removing the excess with the razor blade.
You are trying to remove most of the filler to make sanding easier.

Don't scrape off the filler when removing excess with the blade. Press hard and you'll pull filler out of the seam trench.

The advantage to dragging a drop of filler down the seam with a knife:
As the blade follows the trench, filler is directed right into the seam.
Dragging the blade over the excess:
Removes the bulk of the filler and again presses the filler into the seam.
