Good luck trying to find a 35mm coupler! It'll be made from a 1" long piece of 35mm tube.
I'll be joining a 20mm tube to a 35mm tube.
The center circle pencil line was simply a trace around a 20mm tube.
The center was marked.
The outside ring was drawn with a compass to a diameter of 1.5"
To get a tight fit around the 20mm tube, cut just inside of the the pencil line you traced around the 20mm tube.
We'll come back to the centering rings after the coupler is made.
A 1" length of 35mm tube will be used for the coupler.
Two wraps of masking tape were set at the 1" mark to give an edge to cut against.
Use a sharp knife and a few passes around the tube to cut all the way through.
The Quest 35mm tubes are thick and didn't need any support on the inside while cutting.
Square up the cut ends on a sanding block.
Mark a line straight down the length of the tube.
Cut down and through the tube using a straightedge.
Let the tube overlap itself and slide into the 35mm lower body tube.
Press the cut coupler piece tight against the inside of the 35mm tube.
Mark the overlap with a sharp pencil.
Remove the cut coupler.
