It's Back! The Estes Saturn V

Just up on the Estes Website - CLICK HERE
EDIT: At the moment it is showing as "In Stock".
Retail price is lower than the last batch at $79.99.

No news about parts changes. We can hope the fins aren't vacu-form anymore.
Recommended engines now include the D12-3, E12-4 and E30-4.

Will I build another? Maybe. I'm not looking forward to the masking.
I'll probably buy a couple to have on hand. You can never have too many Saturn Vs.

  1. Time to start checking the AC Supply site daily, if not more frequently. $48 beats retail any day.

  2. So does this reissue kit have larger than scale fins for stability, or does it have the clear plastic over-fins for flight like the old Centuri kit?

    1. Hi Glen,
I haven't seen it yet so I don't know for sure. I would think the injection molded plastic fins are larger than scale so it'll fly stable without the use of the Centuri style "over-fins". That's probably the best compromise.
