Semroc (Estes) Starship Excalibur Build, Part 6, Reactor Bays

The Reactor Bays are split half BT-5 tube.
Fill the seams now before cutting and splitting the tube in two. The tube is stronger now and will be easier to sand before cutting.

Look to the right side of the tube. There is a small laser cut notch.
This is the cut line marking.

Set the tube into an aluminum angle to mark the length of the tube.

Turn the tube until your pencil tip sits in the notch.
Extend the pencil line the length of the tube.

Sight down the tube and make sure the pencil line is straight.

BT-5 tubes are thin so go slow with the cutting.
A few lighter passes are better than on single hard cut.

After cutting in two, run the cut sides on your sanding block to even up the lines.

Contour the tube edges to the BT-55.
Wrap the BT-55 tube with 220 grit and lightly sand a slight angle into the cut tube edges.

This may not seen necessary but it will make for a better fit when the tube is glued to the main air frame.
