Estes Skydart II #3229 Build, Part 11, What Happened?

It seems every kit has an added adventure!
As normal, I'm making two Skydart models. Look what happened to the second model when the CWF filler dried. The forward wing piece split away!

The first wing stayed together after drying. I've never seen this before.
The outside piece was warped and couldn't be pressed together for gluing. I had to cut a thin wedge to fill it.

I always hang onto some of the scrap balsa for occasions like this.
A long thin wedge was cut and pressed into the split. Thin CA glue was applied over the top and allowed to seep into the joint.
This was sanded flat and more CWF applied. After that dried the wing was sanded flat with a block and 220 grit.
