Estes Skydart II #3229 Build, Part 9, Nacelles

I used the aluminum angle to cut and split the BT-50 nacelle tube.
Be very careful when cutting. Keep the angle held steady and the blade angle at 90 degrees.

First sand the cut tube sides flat on a sanding block.
Then knock off just the inside edge of the cut tubes by sanding around a BT-50 or a D engine casing. Lightly sanding the inside edges makes for a much better fit against the body tube.

The nose cone was pretty clean except for some molding flash at the top.

There was some small indent ticks at the raised shoulder. I tried to drop in some medium CA but the glue ran down into the shoulder edge. It can be removed with a fine File.

The fit of the washer weights was a little tight. I carefully filed down the edge a fit for a better slip fit.
