Estes Apollo Little Joe II Build, Part 30, Nozzle Plate

The laminated nozzle plate ring was spray painted white before the nozzles were glued on.

TIP: I didn't use any glue yet. Press the nozzles in from the center out to the tab notch. There isn't much support near the center and you don't want to bend the ring.




With all the nozzles in place it's an impressive sub-assembly.

The nozzles were glued afterwards. I simply did four small dots of medium super glue. The glue ran into the joint.

As I mentioned earlier I'm not gluing the nozzle plate in the model. You can slide the nozzle plate in for display and remove it for flight.
With the interior thru-the-wall fin struts the engine mount is very well supported.
