Setting the Saturn V Engine Block? TIP

The first run of the Estes Saturn V kit only has the short yellow D engine block setting tube at 2 3/4" long.
The model should be built for the 3 3/4" long E engines.

If you don't have a E engine casing -
Take a scrap BT-50 tube and cut it to 3 3/4" long.
Cut down it's length in a straight line with scissors.

This allows the slit tube to collapse and the edges to overlap. It will now slide into the BT-50 engine mount tube to set the engine block.

This slit tube spacer idea can be adapted to 18mm and 24mm engine models.

  1. Chris here is one of the best tools you can have in your building box. You well use it no matter what size rocket your building. http://fliskits.com/products/01prod_fs.htm

    1. Unfortunately the link only takes you the FlisKits product page rather than the individual item (this is because of how the site is structured -- it uses frames with content populated within a "parent" page. Copying the URL from the address bar only gives you the "container" and not the individual content).
My best guess at what you were referring to (given the context) is the "Block-n-Tackle" ( http://fliskits.com/products/accessories/block-n-tackle.htm ).

    2. Just in case one might wonder how you'd get to the page in question "the normal way" -- go to the main products page, then click the link for the FlisCessories (near the upper right under the link to the EMRR -- it looks like a black button with a picture of a shuttle on it).
