I scanned all the wrap sheets so I could print out more if I screwed anything up.
The boat-tail has a glue tab attached. I went the other route where the tab is cut off so both straight edges of the boat-tail will touch with no overlap.
Another tab was cut and glued onto one edge of the boat-tail.
Glue was applied to the underside of the other edge and the two sides butted together.
Two clean dowels were used to join the edges.
The larger dowel went underneath and the smaller diameter dowel was rolled over the top. This allows you to press the edges down into the interior glued tab.
Don't roll with any pressure until you are sure the edges are together from top to bottom.
Roll on the seam - go too far to the right or left of the seam and the interior tab edges will be "blind embossed" onto the shroud.
