The inside rear edge of the fairings got a coating of CA applied with a Q-Tip. This was sanded smooth with 400 grit on a dowel.
It'd be best to do this before the toenails are glued to the pencil line 3/16" from the rear.

On the left is a fairing as it looks cut off the BT-20 tube.
On the right is the fairing after shaping rounder on a dowel.
Glue the toenails with the cardstock piece up to the 3/16" mark.

Again, this picture shows my second attempt at the fairings. This time with the print on the inside.
Concentrate on sanding the toenail piece. Note in the picture the tip of the fairing is raised. Don't sand down the tip!
If you sand the tip thin, the glue will shrink and cause the tip to pull in making a concave dip in the top of the fairing.
Keep sanding the toenail until the fairing makes a good fit on all sides of the shroud. Sand a bit on the casing, then check the fit on the shroud.
Don't sand to much off the underside of the fairings! Just take down the interior tube edge a little. Concentrate on sanding down the toenail pieces.
