Cutting Lugs TIP

In some kits, you have to cut the long launch lug in two.

You could saw back and forth with a new razor blade, but chances are you'd probably cut it at an angle or crush the lug.

For a clean cut, slide the dowel down a scrap dowel for support.
(I had to add a few wraps of masking tape to the dowel for a tighter fit.)

It's a lot like using a coupler inside a body tube for support while cutting.

Measure, mark with a pencil and cut.
Roll the blade over the mark and around the lug.

Keep the blade straight and try to meet up with the starting point.
If done correctly, the edge will be clean and there shouldn't be any sanding block needed.
