Estes V2 Build Part 1 Parts

Here's all the parts from the new re-release of the Estes V2 kit, #3228.
The model is designed for D12-3, E9-4 and E9-6 engines.
The nose cone and tail cone are blow molded plastic.
A premade 18" parachute is included, printed in the "classic" Estes checkerboard pattern.

Some pieces of interest:
1. The engine hook is spring steel. It'll need a little curved bend put into it. It's actually bent a little in the wrong way.
2. The orange ring is the 1" long spacer for D engine flights. It slides very loosely in the BT-50 motor mount tube.
3. The 50 based motor mount tube is thick walled -  Good work Estes!
4. The only decals are silver bands.
5. The clay pat seems small for a nose weight.
6. My BT-80 tube was oval on one side. The other side is perfectly round.
This ovaled end will go toward the lower, tail cone end. The tail cone shoulder will bring it back to round.

  1. Just built this. Always liked the shape of the V2 but looking for an alternative paint scheme. Like to imagine a payload other than a warhead.
