Here's the basswood fins next to the full size drawings on the instruction sheet.
The instructions say to remove the fins to taper the leading edges.
TIP: Leave all the fins on the basswood sheet, you can "gang sand" the leading edge tapers. Just remove the wood above the leading edges, leave the fins connected to the sheet.
Extend the taper lines beyond the what is printed on the instructions with a fine pencil.
This gives you more to line up when this line is transferred to the fins. Set the fin pieces right over the plans with the extended pencil lines.
Here you can see I've left the air rudder fin tips together on the basswood.
You are given two extra rudder pieces.
Set all tips down on the instruction sheet and draw the taper line using a straightedge and sharp pencil.
